Building Bridges in the Holy Land and Beyond

Feb 24, 2026

During the month of February, several significant initiatives took place that strengthened the mission of Saxum Visitor Center as a space for encounter, formation, and dialogue.

IMTM Feria Internacional de Turismo, Tel Aviv

IMTM International Tourism Fair, Tel Aviv.

On February 3 and 4, we were part of the IMTM International Tourism Fair in Tel Aviv, as one of the presenters at the stand of the Mate Yehuda Regional Council, the region where Saxum is located.

This occasion allowed us to connect with tour operators, tourism professionals, and journalists from both Israel and abroad. It was an excellent opportunity to promote Saxum as a multimedia center that helps pilgrims and visitors deepen their knowledge of the Holy Land.

Camino de Emaús

The way to Emmaus

On Saturday the 7th, we organized an Emmaus Trail walk with a group of 27 people, including several tour guides with their families and friends.

Henri Gourinard, author of our book “Emmaus Trail, a Guidebook,” accompanied the group, explaining the Byzantine, Roman, and Jewish history of the various points along the route until we reached Emmaus Nicopolis.

People from different cultures, languages, and religions shared this experience. We were united by friendship, respect, and the joy of walking together on a beautiful day through the mountains of Judea – a living reminder that the Holy Land continues to be a place of encounter.

Additionally, we participated in the Religious Tourism Fair in Fátima on the 19th and 20th, where more than 30 countries were represented, and introduced many travel agencies and religious institutions to what Saxum can offer pilgrims on their journey to the Holy Land.

We also so had the opportunity to present Saxum Visitor Center as a unique multimedia center that enables pilgrims to better understand the History of Salvation and the geography of the Holy Land, offering a clear and profound synthesis of the spiritual journey they are about to undertake.

We have also welcomed several pilgrim groups from Brazil, El Salvador, Spain, France, Italy, Panama, and Portugal, as well as a group of students from the Tel Aviv Tourism Guides School and several local families.
